I’m notoriously bad at taking photos of what I’m up to. I’m having a very busy winter; lots of bowls and tools are being made and posted out around the world and this winter I’ve had three people helping me with various parts of the process, just to keep on top of it all. One of these helpers is our local blacksmith Greg Abel. He has been drawing out big batches of hook tool blanks for me on his power hammer, allowing me to get on with grinding the bevels, curling the tips then heat treating the tools before testing them on the lathe. Greg and I are just two of the artisans featured in this months Country Living magazine, in a nice article about the Dartmoor Artisan Trail. Photographer @suzybennett.photography shares her reasons for creating the project in the article. Worth a read if you’re able to get hold of a copy. @countrylivingmag #countrylivingmagazine #countryliving #woodenbowl #polelathe #hooktool #hooktools #greenwoodworking #dartmoorartisantrail #handmade #community
A Dartmoor rainbow to share with you. I hope good things come your way next year. No matter what madness there is in this world there will always be things of great beauty as well. Best wishes everyone!
